Shefali Ghosh, the legendary artist of Chittagong and called emperor of regional songs of Chittagong, hence the emperor of regional songs of Bangladesh. The way in which Shefali Ghosh spread of the culture of Bangladesh through various events in World is immeasurable even today. 
 
Shefali Ghosh was listed on the Radio in 1973-74. He first performed regional songs on TV in 1970. He sang the song 'Ore Sampanwala' in the inaugural program of BTV in 1978 and garnered rave reviews. In 1986, London-based Milfa Limited released 10 audio cassettes and longplay of his songs. He has 20-25 gramophone discs. He has sung about two thousand songs. He has numerous audio-VCD cassettes in the market.
 
Shefali Ghosh has acted in about 23 films. Bashundhara, Monihar, Sampanwala, Malkabanu, Moner Manush, Swami, Borgi Elo Deshe etc.her more popular songs like 'Karlire Diwana, Natin Borai Kha, Surya Udelle Bhai Lalmari, O Manure Sundar Manu, O Paranar Talta Bhai, Koiljar Vitar Bandhi Raikhkhum Toyare etc.'
Many artistes have tried to sing Chittagong regional songs sung by Shefali Ghosh at the national level, but they did not become like him. His songs still resonate in the mouths and hearts of the young and the old.
